RIP Jim Marshall, “Father of Loud”

The creator of Marshall amplification, Jim Marshall, has died at 88 years of age.

Since the 1960’s, Marshall amplifiers have been iconic to guitarists. Their unique sound has reverberated throughout countless bars, clubs, all the way up to thousand-seat arenas by musicians of all calibers. Such a unifying brand to a particular sound of music doesn’t come often, and Jim was the pioneer who brought it all to us.

Take a minute to reflect on Mr. Marshall’s contribution to music. Thank you, Jim, for giving us such a rich vibrant sound – and allowing us to express ourselves through such genuine and beautiful medium. Rest in peace Jim (except for when you’re jamming, then turn it up to 11!)
